Knightsbridge is where I have spent every working day since 2012, managing one of its most prestigious residential buildings. It is the neighbourhood I know most intimately — not only its streets, but the buildings behind them and the people who live in them.
The character of the place
Beyond the shopfronts of Brompton Road lies a surprisingly quiet residential village: the red-brick mansion blocks around Hans Place and Kingston Gore, and the small garden squares — Brompton, Montpelier, Trevor — that most visitors never find. Hyde Park is a few minutes’ walk from almost anywhere.
The quiet market
Many of the finest apartments here change hands within a building, between neighbours and people already known to one another. That is precisely the market I work in. When a resident is thinking of selling, it is very often a conversation long before it is an instruction.
Who it suits
Buyers who want lateral space, security and service without giving up the convenience of the centre of London — and who value a building as much as the apartment within it.
